Tuesday the fourth grade students walked over to the Brandywine Community Library to learn about all the fantastic things the library has to offer. They got to explore, meet Sheldon, and learn about fun summer programs…and best of all, it’s FREE!

On Tuesday evening the members of the Middle School Reading Olympics team traveled to Wilson West to compete. The team finished in the first-place bracket, winning each of their three rounds and earning a blue ribbon! Mrs. Peters is proud of all the effort students put in throughout the year to read from the list of 25 books. Wonderful teamwork was on display and the students had a great time. They did a fantastic job representing our school.

The Intermediate School Reading Olympics team did a phenomenal job at the event last Thursday. Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hook were so proud of all the effort they put in, and their exemplary behavior during the event. They did a fantastic job representing our school. The team landed in the first place bracket, and scored 2nd place overall for Berks County!

On Monday night, the Brandywine Heights Area School District acknowledged the retirement and years of service of the following individuals pictured below: Ms. Angstadt (37 years), Mrs. Lineman (36 years), Mrs. Lambert (32 years), and Mrs. Hovis (25 years).
We also recognized the following individuals who are not pictured below: Mr. Wetzel (34 years), Mrs. Lebo (23 years), Mrs. Long (10 years), and Ms. Toman (10 years).

Today at Schuylkill Valley High School, students participated in the Special Olympics. They cheered and applauded one another as they competed in long jump, shot put, races and more. From the opening ceremonies to the bus ride home, smiles and laughter echoed in the air.

There is still time to sign up for BHASD's FREE summer learning opportunity, Camp SPARK. Students in grades K - 8 may attend. Camp Spark will be held the weeks of July 8 - 25. Our primary goal is to provide additional, targeted learning opportunities for students during the summer in a fun and engaging way. This summer programming will allow for remediation activities, as well as enrichment opportunities. If you are interested in having your student(s) participate, please use the QR Code to complete the registration by May 1, 2024. You will receive confirmation that your child is registered for Camp Spark the week of May 6th. We are excited for your child to spend the summer having fun and learning with our staff.

The Education Showcase and Mindfulness Night brought many families together as they explored different vendor booths, listened to live music, discovered BHASD's educational opportunities, and enjoyed fun activities throughout the night. Brandywine Heights School District will be celebrating Plastic Free Lunch Day on Monday, April 22nd in conjunction with Earth Day! Plastic Free Lunch Day provides students an opportunity to learn about plastic pollution and take meaningful plastic-reduction action. One plastic free day leads to another and creates a vision and actionable ideas to move forward to a sustainable future.

Join us on Friday April 19th at 7pm for the Middle School Talent Show! Acts include singing, dancing, acting, and ventriloquism! Select Chorus and Jazz Band will be performing in exhibition. Admission to the talent show is $5 per person. Student performers do not need to pay admission. All proceeds will help send our students to future county and state music festivals.

K-5 Gifted has moved into game mode and will build their way to the end of the school year finish line! Using Bloxels, students are using the hands on platform to collaborate, build, and tell stories through video game creations.
