July 19th, 2024

Dear Brandywine Heights High School Families,

Our yearly Open House Night is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13th from 6:30 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. here at the High School. We would love for you to join us if your schedule permits.   Please note the following:

Dual Enrollment Informational Session:

We will be holding a Dual Enrollment  informational session that will begin at 6:00 P.M. and end at 6:25 P.M. Representatives from Reading Area Community College present information and answer questions regarding dual enrollment.  This session will take place in the Library at 6:00 P.M.

9th Grade/ New Student Self-Guided Tours:

Incoming 9th graders and students new to the High School can arrive at 5:30 P.M. to get their schedules and to tour the building before the Open House event. Student Council members will be on hand and available to assist with questions, locations, etc.

The following informational sessions will be available throughout the evening:

Berks Career and Technology Center: A representative will be present to answer questions regarding their programs and share what benefits can be gained by attending BCTC.

Food Services Department: A representative of our High School Food Service Staff will be on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions families may have in regards to our meal services and accounts.

Military Representatives: We maintain an exceptional partnership with local military organizations and some representatives will be on hand to share some of the opportunities for students who are seeking to enter the military.

There will also be some volunteers from various community organizations available to share information with our families on several topics and opportunities.

We will have student schedules available for families at the event. Student schedules will be released in Infinite Campus on 8/12/24 at noon. Open House will begin at 6:30 P.M. We ask that you please try to make every effort to be in your student’s first-period class by the specified start time.  In the first period, you will be provided with a schedule to follow for the remainder of the evening.  You will be spending approximately eleven minutes with each of your child’s teachers to briefly hear a course description, understand teacher expectations, meet the teacher, and be provided with contact information for the teacher. Because of the brevity of this time, we ask that you please not direct specific questions to teachers about your children. Detailed questions are always welcomed by teachers via email, phone contact, or face-to-face by appointment.

Please note that if you have more than one child who attends BHHS, it will not be possible for one person to follow multiple schedules in one evening. You are welcome to bring more than one family member if this is the case.  Feel free to use any study hall time to visit classes on another schedule or cycle day.

We welcome your attendance and look forward to meeting you! Should you need any special accommodations for this evening, please feel free to call us in advance and we will be happy to work with you to provide anything you may need.

Sincerely,

Matthew J. Dziunycz
